Blue Guy mysteriously came to live at the gallery in February, just before the “Big Snow.”  He arrived one morning, blocking the front door to the gallery.  Actually, he looked like he was trying to peer in…or take the mail from the slot! Check out the latest from Susan Hensel Gallery.
I moved him over to the un-used side entrance, where he stood for a few days.

But now the time has come to say farewell. He lost his head in the rains yesterday. Someone kindly propped him up again, hanging his near useless arms over the fence. He will move to his final resting place April 11, in time for his kind city transportation to the landfill. I invite you to pay your last respects! I think we all gave him a lovely last few months.

About Susan Hensel Gallery

Opened September 10th, 2004 Susan Hensel Gallery was a gallery/ workspace presenting 5-6 shows per year devoted to the concept of narrative in the arts in an intimate space, with hardwood floors and high tin ceilings. The Susan Hensel Gallery is now both a window gallery on Cedar Avenue, the main thoroughfare in south Minneapolis and an online venture represented on Artsy.net.

In March 2013, the interior space reverted to a working studio for Susan Hensel where she continues to work on small and largescale artwork with an attitude. You can find her current work at Susan Hensel Projects

The studio remains open to the public on Monday, 10 am-5 pm, during special events and by generous appointments. You are welcome to drop by this gallery/workspace at any time, but a call ahead prevents frustration.
