In the Windows: Raven Miller’s Other Worlds

Artist Raven Miller has brought some much-needed color and sun to the windows at 3441 Cedar Ave. S. Whether standing at the bus stop or driving by, there is much to see. It is positively jewel-like at night!

He has said of the show:

OTHER WORLDS by Artist Raven Miller

This series of watercolors on both board and handmade paper is the result of several years of developing different techniques of using water-based pigments. I have always be drawn to abstracts and created this work based on my fascination with the colors of the arid landscapes of southern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, I wanted to experiment with the idea of what it would be like looking up deep within the water or high above the Earth. I wanted a different perspective of the world around me.

About Susan Hensel Gallery – Contemporary Art by Susan Hensel

Opened September 10th, 2004 Susan Hensel Gallery was a gallery/ workspace presenting 5-6 shows per year devoted to the concept of narrative in the arts in an intimate space, with hardwood floors and high tin ceilings. The Susan Hensel Gallery is now both a window gallery on Cedar Avenue. This is the main thoroughfare in south Minneapolis and an online venture represented on Artsy.net. In March 2013, the interior space reverted to a working studio for Susan Hensel. This space allows her to continue to work on small and largescale artwork with an attitude. You can find her current work at Susan Hensel Projects. The studio remains open to the public by appointment or chance, on Monday-Saturday, 10 am-5 pm.  You are welcome to drop by this gallery/workspace at any time. But a call ahead prevents frustration. The well-lit Windows on Cedar Project are available to be seen 24 hours a day.
