Coming soon! Revisions of the American Dream! This new show is a special event! The curator, Zach Pearl, began working at Susan Hensel Gallery last year as an intern. He now works here as my gallery assistant. Keeping me sane and taking over more of the administration weekly. This show is HIS baby! I am pleased to have him work here on so many levels and very pleased to support him in presenting this national show! The Wedding Reception was Delicious Friday, May 2, the wedding reception was delicious! Betsy bakes a 5 layer wedding cake. She learned about baking "fancy stuff" when her daughter was in middle school. And insisted on studying the fine art of pastry! A bit of it rubbed off on Mom!  Late in the evening a couple of other guests arrived! Mr and Mrs Teddy Bear have gone next door to visit with my god-daughter Lisa and her little sister. That is their proud Granny Cathy keeping them from flying away! Susan Hensel Gallery The focus of Susan Hensel Gallery is on compelling objects, meaningful use of materials, and engaging sculpture. It is a gallery where experimental ideas and works of the hand join to create unique sensory experiences. Opened September 10th, 2004 Susan Hensel Gallery is a gallery/ workspace presenting 5-6 shows per year in an intimate space, with hardwood floors and high tin ceilings. In 2013 the interior space reverted to a working studio for Susan Hensel where she continues to work on small and largescale artwork that engages both sculptural and cultural space. I Will get the Hang of This!

I Will get the Hang of This! So, I started this yesterday. I do not promise daily missives...I don't manage daily anything! But I will try to keep readers up to date on the happenings at the gallery . Tonight, and every 4th Wednesday, 7pm, Artists Unite meet here. This is a still nascent, amoeba like artists salon for local artists, primarily from South Minneapolis. On any given week we could talk about art history, new tools, new shows, show our artwork, read our poems...It is still very loose. It, prehaps, needs tightening up. While we drink wine tonight, I will suggest that we talk about the phenomenon of the Frida Kahlo show that just closed at the Walker Art Center.
