FAULT The video FAULT, by Dean Ebben is projected onto the shaped screen of In the House of the Mineral Spirits. It is an evocative video, roughly 7 minutes, in roughly 5 parts. It begins with Dean rolling on a clear, old, wood floor. The soundtrack is both ambient, using the sounds found in the environment and additive and evocative using the jingling and jangling of silverware. As the video progresses, new sounds and new actions surround the newly discovered fault. Bread and water, staff of life, the stuff of memory and the stuff of the present. In the House of the Mineral Spirits runs through the end of February at Susan Hensel Gallery. Open Mondays, 10-5 and by very generous appointment. The Wedding Reception was Delicious

The Wedding Reception was Delicious Friday, May 2, the wedding reception was delicious! Betsy bakes a 5 layer wedding cake. She learned about baking "fancy stuff" when her daughter was in middle school. And insisted on studying the fine art of pastry! A bit of it rubbed off on Mom!  Late in the evening a couple of other guests arrived! Mr and Mrs Teddy Bear have gone next door to visit with my god-daughter Lisa and her little sister. That is their proud Granny Cathy keeping them from flying away! Susan Hensel Gallery The focus of Susan Hensel Gallery is on compelling objects, meaningful use of materials, and engaging sculpture. Cold Temperatures, Warm showings

Cold Temperatures, Warm showings Celestial Navigation continues to warm local bodies even as the mercury hovers at or below zero. We hardy souls have become unused to the cold, cold depths of yesteryear! The artists who came by yesterday were mesmerized by the structures and materials of Karen's installation. The six foot inkjet prints are tours de force! Not one stripe, not one blotch, pure bleeds, on Japanese paper...How does she do it? The precision of the books is amazing as well. The hinges function flawlessly, the technique is expert and nearly invisible. You cannot resist playing with Karen's objects. They form mountains, valleys and quiet meanders across the pedestals.
